He said that the guy was correct that they could change spring in the VB to help the issue. I called Dunrite yesterday, very nice and helpful. My converter is only a single disk, have no clue on stall. They did a trans in a buddy's truck who pulls 2.6 with me and he made it almost all year on stock shafts. First auto always had sticks before only bought this one because my buddy dropped major $ on a good rebuild. Yes, I could hit the OD button, but I shouldn't have to that's why I'm trying to track down the issue.Īs far as when the TC is supposed to lock & unlock I'm clueless please school me. I haven't gotten to tow anything since I put the Quadzilla on. I could only tow on lvl 2 w/o Egt's getting hot. Well with the Edge Juice I had I don't doubt I was running out of power. I have spoke with the shop that did the trans and they built the VB to be that way :confused013: and that all they have to do is change a spring in it and it will down shift higher? 3.55 gears 2500-2700 rpms with 13,000lbs isn't going anywhere quickly. When I hit a hill loaded or unloaded the truck pulls all the way down to 1300-1400RPMs before it unlocks the TC and shifts down to 3rd which makes the R's jump to 2500-2700. My issue is this the truck upshifts 1, 2, 3, TC locks, & then 4th gear. trans didnt make it 100 miles on the lowest setting and the easiest driving i have ever done b4 losing 5th and 6th gear and going into limp mode. The trans has a HD rebuild from a local reputable shop that my mechanic even had them build one for his personal truck. my turbo went out around christmas time, just got truck back with a 2nd gen swap s467.7 100 hp injectors, head studs and ez lynk through hpp. The only complaint I have about the truck is concerning the transmission downshifting from 4th to 3rd. Everything works as it should.Ok I LOVE my 99 I've put 9,000 miles on it in 5 months half of that was hauling my puller all over KY. The trans does not seem like it is slipping any. When its not locking in 4th gear it runs fine. Does anyone have any ideas of where and what to start checking? I want to think it is something electrical. It has gone to more frequently doing this in the past 3 days. I reprogramed the Smarty and the truck did not give any problems for 8-10 days of driving and towing. Once it drops back to 4th turning the truck off is the only way to get it to shift right again. It may run and work just fine and it might do it again. ![]() I have to stop the truck and shift to park. It shifts through the gears fine and when it goes to shift to 5th its like it starts to shift and drops back to 4th and will not shift out. The truck is deleted and has been for about 60k miles. I tried doing a search but did not come up with anything. ![]() I'm having problems with an 07 68rfe shifting.
